If you're venturing into the world of online advertising through Google, you might have stumbled upon terms like "Advertiser Verification" and "Business Operations Verification." Or, you may have received a request from us to submit personal and/or business documentation to allow us to submit this information to Google to meet requirements relating to those terms.
Here's a breakdown of what these are, why they're important, and how they affect your advertising campaigns on Google.
What are Google's Advertiser and Business Operations Verifications?
Advertiser Verification
Advertiser Verification is part of Google's initiative to increase transparency in digital advertising. When you're subject to this verification, Google wants to confirm your identity as an advertiser. This process involves providing documentation that verifies your identity or your business's identity.
Although you have selected Kliken to build and operate your campaigns, as the end-advertiser, you are still subject to these requirements from Google.
Business Operations Verification
Business Operations Verification goes a step further. It's designed to ensure that advertisers are operating their businesses in a manner that complies with Google's policies. This might involve answering questions about your business practices, your ad content, and how you intend to use the Google advertising platform.
Again, although you have selected Kliken to build and operate your campaigns, as the end-advertiser, you are still subject to these requirements from Google.
Why Does Google Require These Verifications?
Google's goal is to create a safe, transparent, and trustworthy environment for users and advertisers alike. By verifying the identity and operations of advertisers, Google aims to prevent fraud, misrepresentation, and misuse of the ad platform. These verifications help protect users from misleading ads and ensure that advertisers are who they claim to be, promoting genuine products or services.
Please Note: A Google Requirement, Not Kliken
Importantly, these verification processes are requirements set by Google, not Kliken. As a platform facilitating your advertising efforts, we want to ensure you're equipped with all the necessary information to navigate these verifications smoothly.
Given the relationship between your campaigns, ourselves, and Google - while the information that is required is yours, Kliken will be the party responsible for submission to Google.
What Happens After the Documents are Submitted?
Google takes between 7-21 days (sometimes less, but, also, sometimes longer) to complete the review. They MAY request additional information. If they do, our team will reach out as soon as we are informed of this to help facilitate the resolution of any open requests.
