As part of Google's Trust and Safety process, you're required to verify a phone number for your business. The phone number is only used for verification and will not show in ads or listings. If you'd like to do so directly in your Google Merchant Center account, you can follow Google's instructions here. If we created a Google Merchant Center account for you, and you have not added yourself to that Google Merchant Center account yet, follow the instructions here.
If you have reached the Google Shopping checklist in your account and are on the Google needs to verify your phone number step, follow the instructions below.
1. If you have already verified your phone number in the Google Merchant Center account you're using for your product listings or ads, click the I already verified my number for Google to continue to the next step of the checklist.
2. If you have not verified your phone number for Google yet, select the appropriate country for your phone number, and enter your phone number into the text box.
3. If your phone is able to receive SMS, you can use the Verify by Text to receive a text message with your verification code. Otherwise, you can select Verify by Call to receive a phone call with your verification code. (note: if you are unable to receive SMS and select Verify by Text, you will receive an error)
4. Once you enter your phone number and select a verification method, you will receive your verification code by the method selected, and will enter that in the appropriate text box.
You may only request a verification code 5 times within 4 hours for one phone number. If you have reached this limit, you will need to wait, or try a different phone number.
